Currently studying at San Jose State University and a former Pescadero High School student, Mariela is an incredible addition to the 2024 JFY Scholar cohort! With experience as a Student Advisory Committee member, Mariela is an advocate for her community. Her care for others extends into her dream career of being a Registered Nurse. She seeks to leverage her Spanish fluency to support Latinx families in hospitals and alleviate their stress by communicating in their native language. Welcome, Mariela!
