The Jobs for Youth (JFY) program supports all County of San Mateo youth ages 14-21 in achieving their career and higher education goals via our four pillars of success:
Career & professional development workshops
Connecting youth to employment services within San Mateo County
Access to an annual scholarship fund
Eligibility to apply for annual JFY Summer Internship program
JFY takes a holistic approach to serving the County’s youth, by encouraging them to seek careers that are truly meaningful to them, making ourselves available for one-on-one coaching & mentoring, and allowing for long-term networking opportunities through the Jobs for Youth Alumni Association.
Our vision is to work toward a truly just and inclusive society for all, by addressing systemic barriers to higher education and access to employment opportunities that many youth in our County and beyond face. Our annual scholarship fund helps alleviate financial burdens on youth and their families when striving to reach their higher education goals. Additionally, our free professional development workshops aim to strengthen our community and bolster the local economy by connecting our youth to employment opportunities within the County of San Mateo.
