Shave Ice Team Member

Join our soon to be soft-open Hawaiian Breeze Shave Ice located in central downtown San Mateo inside the new Kiddo Adventure Indoor Playground. We did multiple pop-up events in 2025 and are ready to open our first physical shop!

In this energetic role, you will create a friendly and welcoming experiences for customers and families of all ages. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and grow, working in a dynamic and fast pace environment especially, during weekends!

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with warmth and professionalism, creating a friendly environment from the moment they arrive, to the moment they leave.
• Lead front desk, handling customer orders and payments through the POS (point of sale) system, with efficiency and professionalism.
• Shave and sculpt the perfect Hawaiian style shave ice
• Add flavoring on the shave ice and toppings
• Prepare, wash and cut fresh fruits and toppings for the scheduled shift
• Maintain cleanliness of the equipment, food prep area and the front cafe area throughout the day.
• Support team members to ensure smooth operations, with a “We win together, we fail together” motto.
• Opportunity to grow into a team lead role based on performance and potential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in food, cafe, beverage business is a plus
• Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively
• Ability to communicate clearly with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth operations and create a friendly & positive experience for all

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: starting $18.60 per hour, plus tips.

Future Additional Pay is commensurate upon experience.

Expected hours: 10-25 hours per week to start and increase from there
