Macarena, the vibrant Spanish restaurant in Palo Alto, is looking for a lively, welcoming Host to create a memorable first impression for our guests. At Macarena, we’re all about vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and creating unforgettable dining experiences. As a Host, you’ll play a key role in setting the tone for a great meal and ensuring that every guest feels at home.

Your Role:

• Greet Guests with a warm ¡Bienvenidos!, setting the stage for an authentic and immersive dining experience.
• Escort Guests to Their Tables, creating a smooth and enjoyable start to their meal.
• Organize Shift Reservations by managing the guest seating schedule to ensure a timely and smooth flow.
• Take Calls for Reservations, using the OpenTable system to assist with bookings and guest inquiries.
• Manage the Waitlist, keeping guests informed of wait times and ensuring no delays.
• Prepare the Floor for the Shift, including setting candles, adjusting lighting, and arranging tables.
• Collaborate with the Team—work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and others to deliver a seamless guest experience.
• Assist with Guest Requests or Concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain the Dining Area, ensuring it’s clean, organized, and inviting at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Answering phone calls for reservations and inquiries.
• Checking in guests, confirming reservations, and managing walk-ins.
• Ensuring tables are set properly before guests arrive, including cleanliness and presentation.
• Managing guest flow, ensuring seating runs smoothly without delays.
• Supporting staff during busy times to maintain smooth operations.
• Ensuring guests feel valued and cared for throughout their entire visit.

What We’re Looking For:

• A friendly, energetic personality—your warmth will set the tone for our guests’ experience.
• Strong communication skills to ensure a smooth and positive flow for our guests.
• Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous hospitality experience is a plus, but your enthusiasm and desire to learn are essential.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle busy shifts.
• A passion for excellent customer service and a genuine desire to create memorable moments for our guests.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.70 – $20.00 per hour
