Duties

• Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to menu specifications.
• Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients needed for meal service, including slicing, dicing, and portioning food items.
• Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Help with meal assembly and plating under the supervision of chefs or dietary staff to ensure timely service.
• Maintain a clean work area by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste appropriately throughout shifts.
• Support catering or special event setups by organizing serving stations and assisting with food handling as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards essential for maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking methods are advantageous for supporting food prep tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as restaurants or catering operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and food quality standards.
• Prior kitchen experience in the food industry or culinary settings demonstrates your readiness for this energetic role.
