Clarissa is a champion for all. A Senior at Notre Dame Belmont who is passionate about writing and journalism, Clarissa’s dream is to uplift the voices of all those who are marginalized and silenced. Having participated in the Silicon Valley Community Foundation Journalism Program with the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) in the beginning of 2022, Clarissa discovered the power of sharing her own personal experiences. Shining bright in this program, Clarissa was accepted into Calafia, a YLI nine-month, statewide fellowship, where she has written about racial inequity and systemic oppression. We are honored to welcome Clarissa as a 2023 Al Teglia Scholar and support her in painting her truth!
