Coffee Shop Barista

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
• Handle retail sales transactions efficiently using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems, ensuring accurate cash handling and processing payments
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards by cleaning equipment, counters, and dining areas regularly
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about ingredients or beverage options, and provide friendly service to enhance their experience
• Manage food handling responsibilities by preparing light food items or snacks in accordance with food safety guidelines
• Support the café’s daily operations by managing time effectively during busy periods and ensuring prompt service delivery
• Uphold food industry standards by following proper beverage preparation techniques and adhering to health regulations

Requirements

• Previous barista experience or food service background is preferred; familiarity with coffee preparation is a plus
• Proficiency in using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for retail transactions and cash handling
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Basic math skills for cash register operations and retail math calculations
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods throughout shifts

Pay: $19.84 – $20.40 per hour
