Yessenia is resilient. As many of us might relate to, the years of lockdown and virtual learning were not easy for Yessenia. During this period of time, she faced many obstacles and endured them all with grace, grit, and determination, and eventually uncovered her passion for psychology during these trying times. Now a Senior at Mills High School, Yessenia is a leader in and out of the classroom. Not only producing stellar work, but supporting fellow classmates in understanding new material, she is all about uplifting those around her. She is a valuable addition to this year’s Al Teglia Scholar group, and the world is truly her canvas!
