Support a Scholar: December 1

In today’s climate of uncertainty, fear, and constant change, there is one thing that gives us hope: the fundamental truth that when we join together, we have the ability to make the world a better place.

That’s why, this coming Tuesday, December 1, we are proud to be participating in Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday’s messages of connection and community have never been more needed. The movement is a powerful reminder that while many things have been canceled this year, generosity and hope have not.

We are so energized by this movement, and we sincerely hope you will join us.

What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.

Where will the money go?
Every single dollar will fund a scholarship for a hardworking, talented youth in need. Jobs for Youth is fully sustained by the County of San Mateo, which means 100% of your donation goes directly to a Scholar. Our goal is to raise $1500—enough to fund one full scholarship.

How do we participate?
Here’s how you can get ready to give:

  1. Mark your calendar. Add the Giving Tuesday event to your calendar! Giving will last all day on December 1.

  2. Give. On December 1, go to https://jobsforyouth.org/support/ and donate.

  3. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on December 1 by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization. Make sure to use hashtag #GivingTuesday and tag us so we can share!

Let’s rally together to change the life of a youth in need!

Thank you for all that you do. Together, we can change lives for the better.
