Interviews can be stressful and nerve-racking!
Even if you are prepared and have done your research on the company that you’re interviewing for, the interview can still seem stressful.
However, did you know that there is an easy way to help you feel more confident before your interview? The answer is…STRIKE A POWER POSE! 😊
Social psychologist Amy Cuddy gives an excellent TedTalk on how our body language may shape who we are (click here for the link to the TedTalk—approximately 21 minutes). In a nutshell, her advice is to make a “high power” pose for 2 minutes before entering a social or high-pressure situation. This has proven to give a boost in confidence! Check out the infographic above for examples of high power poses!
Remember that you are enough and that you are amazing! The power pose is just meant to serve as wind beneath your wings. At the heart of all your endeavors is you. Be confident and recognize that you have worked hard—the interview is just a space for you and your potential employer to get to know one another, and we know that they are excited to meet you and will be so impressed by you!
Congratulations on making it to the interview stage and we are so proud of all your accomplishments! We hope that you found this “pre-interview power pose” tip fun and helpful! Best of luck in everything–you got this!
