Rebecca refuses to be defeated by obstacles in her path and channeled the tragedy of losing her mother to illness at a young age into a determination to save the lives of others.
Currently a senior at Mills High School, Rebecca is enrolled in an EMT course and plans to study Biology in college before medical school and a career as a surgeon.
While Rebecca prepares for her future with advanced science classes and volunteering at the Mills-Peninsula Hospital, she also stays connected to her past as an immigrant by performing as an expert yangqin (Chinese string instrument) player and participating in her school’s Chinese culture club.
