Future cognitive scientist Madison Shem finds the human brain fascinating, and she is driven to better understand linguistic and reasoning skills in different youth populations. Madison is particularly invested in supporting foster youth and other high-need groups. She hopes to learn more about brain functioning in these populations in order to support them as an advocate, researcher, and social worker. Madison is currently a senior at Design Tech High School, where she co-leads an international service organization. Her dedication to understanding and working alongside marginalized groups will make her a powerful force for good in her future career.
