The job: As a Camp Counselor in our J-Camp program you will be responsible for engaging and supervising children ranging from 5-12 years old. Come work with your peers and play with kids while being a role model who creates a welcoming and safe environment for campers to grow and learn. You will lead and co-lead a variety of fun and exciting value-based camp activities for your camper group, including but not limited to: arts and crafts, sports, stem projects, water play and swimming, classic camp games, and teambuilding. The Core Duties:

  • Supervise an assigned group of campers during the camp day to ensure the safety and well-being of each camper
  • Lead and co-lead a variety of value-based camp activities for your camper group, including but not limited to: arts and crafts, sports, stem projects, water play and swimming, classic camp games, and teambuilding
  • Participate enthusiastically and lead your group in elements of Chavurah (morning song session), L’hitraot (afternoon song session and gratitude), and Shabbat

The Essentials:

  • At least 18 Years of age + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Adjust quickly to changes with open mind and flexibility
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to meaningfully engage with all age levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (both written and oral)
  • Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working with children
  • Certified in CPR for Children and Adults (or ability to obtain certification upon employment)
