Volunteer as a Tutor for the Tap-in Tutoring Program!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the LifeMoves Summer Tap-in Tutoring Program!
This is a great opportunity for students who would like to utilize their tutoring skills to bring educational fun to LifeMoves clients. The LifeMoves Education team will also provide training and group work activities to allow volunteers to gain a deeper understanding of the unhoused population and potentially work on projects that will have a positive impact on their communities.
This program will be offered virtually via Zoom.
Tap-in Tutor Goals and Responsibilities include:
- Help 6th-12th grade students understand math concepts where they may have fallen behind on
- Improve confidence and joy in math
- Give students a genuine curiosity for knowledge and a positive attitude toward school
- Provide students who the English language arts a space to work on it
Time Commitment & Dates/Times:
The summertime commitment is 5 hours per week for seven weeks (although we are flexible if there are times you can tutor).
Breakdown of weekly hours
- Tutoring/Reading – 2 hours per week
- Session Preparation – 1 to 2 hours per week
- Group Discussion – 2 hours per week
Dates/Times
- Monday & Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Start Dates – June 15th and June 17th
- End Date – August 5th
