Yes For Chess is looking for individuals who love encouraging children to reach their potential!
At Yes For Chess, we use chess to teach children problem-solving, planning, and patience in an after-school setting. We are looking for individuals to join our team this upcoming school year who can teach chess fundamentals to elementary school students.
You are not required to be great at chess. If you enjoy chess and are willing to improve your skills, we’ll teach you what we know.
Candidates should have experience working with youth, preferably elementary-aged students, such as tutoring, volunteering, or other verifiable experiences.
Ideal candidates for this opportunity….
- Work experience with youth (ages 5-11)
- Can commit 5-7 hours total in a week during after-school hours of 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Has reliable transportation
- Located near San Bruno, Daly City and San Francisco
- Values timeliness and punctuality
- Will pass a background check
Our Instructor position starts at $24 to $26 an hour. We also compensate for miles driven to school sites.

Yes for Chess was created in 2008 with the idea to use chess to teach children critical thinking and creative problem-solving in a fun setting! This concept was quickly embraced by schools and parents, which allowed us to teach thousands of students throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
