Camilla Boyland is a senior at San Mateo High School who plans to take classes at the College of San Mateo before transferring to a four-year school, potentially a Historically Black College, where she will study Social Work.
She has found a sense of purpose and community through giving back to others in local Food Drives and tutoring, as well as learning advocacy skills. Her references praise her conscientiousness of others, continual push for self-improvement, and ability to use her personal story to motivate others.
For Camilla, an Al Teglia Jobs for Youth Scholarship will breach the financial barriers to higher education, and pave the way for a new chapter in her story that she will use to inspire others to be the change they wish to see in the world.
