Al Teglia passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2014, at the age of 83. Al’s legacy lives on in the lives of each of the JFY Al Teglia Scholars and in our San Mateo County community. May he rest in loving peace.
Earlier that year, JFY celebrated 32 years of serving SMC youth. The theme this year was “Youth Career Challenges” and was celebrated at the Foster City Crowne Plaza with 213 guests in attendance. Supervisor Dave Pine, President of County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors served as Honorary Chairman and the Keynote Speaker was Tom McGraw, CEO First National Bank of Northern California. Solomon Tsai received the Mary Paskevich Memorial Award. Special Business Recognition Awards were presented to Press On Cleaners and Peninsula Regent.
